Khaberni - The Ministry of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs, and Holy Places signed a cooperation agreement with the King Abdullah II Center for Excellence on Wednesday, to launch the award for the outstanding Directorate of Awqaf in its second cycle 2025-2026.
The award, which was signed by the Minister of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs, and Holy Places Mohammad Al-Khalaileh and the Executive Director of the Center, Engineer Widad Qutaishat, aims to establish the concepts of institutional excellence and improve the level of services provided in the directorates of Awqaf in the Kingdom.
Under the agreement, the King Abdullah II Center for Excellence will undertake the evaluation tasks as a neutral entity according to accredited professional standards, ensuring fairness, transparency, and encouraging positive competition among the directorates to enhance productivity, efficiency, and improve the quality of institutional performance.
Al-Khalaileh confirmed that this step is in line with the government's direction towards enhancing institutional work efficiency and creating an environment conducive to creativity in the public sector, pointing out that the award will serve as an incentive for the directorates to enhance their services and adopt the best administrative practices.
The minister said that this initiative aligns with the vision and mission of the Ministry of Awqaf in calling people from the pulpits on the importance of education, creativity, and executing work with the highest standards of perfection and excellence.
In turn, the Executive Director of the King Abdullah II Center for Excellence, Widad Qutaishat praised the partnership with the Ministry of Awqaf, confirming that the main role of the center is to support government institutions in applying excellence standards and building institutional capabilities, thereby improving government performance and achieving citizen satisfaction.
Qutaishat emphasized the importance of internal awards, which are major motivators for employees within ministries and government institutions, praising the ministry's efforts and outstanding initiatives that we strive to transfer to other ministries and institutions to contribute to motivation, development, and performance improvement.
The award includes several categories, namely the Award for the Outstanding Directorate of Awqaf, the Outstanding Mosque Imam Award, the Outstanding Preacher Award, a new category in (the second cycle), the Award for Outstanding Muezzin and Mosque Servant, the Award for Outstanding Supervisory Employee, and the Award for Outstanding Administrative Employee.
This agreement, attended by the Secretary-General of the Ministry Abdullah Akeel and the Advisor to the Minister of Awqaf Murad Al-Rifai, represents a new step in the journey of the Ministry of Awqaf to enhance the culture of institutional excellence and ensure the delivery of more efficient and effective services, in line with the vision of public sector renewal.
On a related note, Al-Khalaileh sponsored the launch ceremony of the award for the outstanding Directorate of Awqaf in its second cycle in 2025, in the presence of the general directors, heads of departments, and directors in the Ministry of Awqaf.
Al-Rifai presented an overview of the details, objectives, contents, categories, and standards of the award.
