The Minister of Local Administration, Walid Al-Masri, sponsored the official Fuhais Municipality ceremony for lighting the Glorious Christmas tree and the New Year's Eve in the old town (Al-Qanatir Theater), in the presence of the acting governor of Balqa, Ali Al-Batayneh.

Al-Masri said, "In Jordan, across all its regions, we are united sharing the values of loving Jordan, authenticity, and Arab culture, which is a feature lacking in many peoples of the world."

He added, "We are fortunate to be in Jordan under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, the patron of his people across different religions and regions, and this sacred Jordan has witnessed many civilizations yet has retained its Arab identity and values."

In turn, the head of the Fuhais Municipality Committee, Imad Al-Hayari, said, "The municipality and local administration are keen on caring for culture, creativity, human interaction, participation, and collaboration through community activities as they are an integral core to the civilized image of Jordan under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II."

He added, "We gather at this time every year to renew the covenant with the city by lighting the tree of love and peace, which carries a history and culture crafted by the efforts of its children, as His Majesty King Abdullah II desired it, a shared life and brotherhood because they are the foundation of prosperity and nation-building, pointing out that the Fuhais community, like Jordan, is an ambassador of human values, love, justice, and peace."

The Archimandrite Paulos Haddad spoke on behalf of the priests of the Apostolic Churches of Fuhais, "In Jordan, we enjoy the blessing of peace and love under the shepherd of the march, His Majesty King Abdullah II, at a time when there are still inflamed countries, adding we are proud to be Jordanian Christians in this country which has become a model for coexistence and brotherhood, and we share with our brothers the good citizenship and the pursuit for the welfare and prosperity of our country, Jordan."

The celebration included the lighting of the Christmas tree, Christmas carols performed by the artist Violeta Youssef, and religious hymns performed by the choir of the Greek Orthodox School of Fuhais and religious and national compositions by the Scout Band of the Greek Orthodox School of Fuhais.
