Khaberni - As the end of a 14-year era in leading "Apple" approaches, recent reports suggest that CEO Tim Cook might leave his position by 2026, coinciding with the company's preparation to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the launch of the first iPhone.
While all eyes are on the future of the company, Elon Musk emerges in an unexpected equation.
Although there are no plans for Musk to take an executive position at "Apple", the most famous billionaire appears ready to intervene in what is currently one of the iPhone's weakest aspects: artificial intelligence and the Siri assistant.
In recent years, "Apple" has faced widespread criticism for its clear delay in the field of artificial intelligence, compared to competitors who offer smarter assistants and capabilities based on advanced language models.
Siri is seen as unable to keep up with the rapid evolution in this field, according to a report published by "phonearena".
Here came a suggestion from one of the accounts on the "X" platform, known as the guide to Grok, asking "Apple" to collaborate with Musk's xAI company to replace Siri with its smart assistant Grok.
In a brief response that caused a wide stir, Musk said: “I’m down,” indicating that he is totally ready for this step.
Wide echo among users
Musk's response garnered more than 18 million views within a few hours, and comments on the "X" platform were filled with suggestions from users welcoming the idea of integrating Grok into the iPhone, and even connecting future "Apple" phones with the "Starlink" satellite internet service.
Some comments were as follows:
- "I will buy the upcoming iPhone if it supports Grok and Starlink."
- "This step might make me go back to using an iPhone."
- "This partnership might be a reason for me to stay within the Apple ecosystem."
But it seems that the path may lead "Apple" to a completely different partner.
"Google" might outpace Musk
Recent reports suggest that "Apple" is indeed close to signing a huge deal with "Google", potentially worth up to a billion dollars annually, to integrate the Gemini AI model into Siri.
Gemini will be used in summarization and planning tasks, while "Apple" will rely on its own servers to ensure the protection of user data.
It is expected that the company will unveil the new version of Siri during next spring, coinciding with the release of iOS 26.4.
