Khaberni - Sponsored by the president of Middle East University, Professor Dr. Salam Al-Mahadin, the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences launched the "Ten Steps Against Diabetes" event, attended by the Dean of the Faculty Dr. Anas Al-Ashram and the Vice Dean Dr. Samiha Al-Dhnaibat, along with faculty members and a large group of students.
The organization of the event coincided with World Diabetes Day, aimed at enhancing health awareness and encouraging students to adopt preventive lifestyles that reduce the risk of Type 2 diabetes. The event included ten interactive stations presented by students and faculty, featuring: body composition measurements, blood sugar and blood pressure testing, identification of low glycemic index foods, reading nutritional labels, as well as stations about physical activity and meditation, functional beverages, and a station combining art and health in an innovative way.
In turn, Dr. Salam Al-Mahadin expressed her appreciation for the efforts of the students and the organizers of the event, affirming the university's commitment to supporting educational programs that promote public health and encourage a healthy lifestyle on and off campus.
The event also saw extensive interaction from the students, as the activities provided helped increase their awareness of preventive behaviors and introduced them to integrative health applications and their role in reducing the risks of chronic diseases.
The Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences announced its intention to adopt the "Ten Steps Against Diabetes" as part of its annual program, with plans to expand collaboration with national health institutions to enhance the impact of the initiative within the university and in the local community.
