Khaberni - The wonders of Kuwaiti citizenship forgery come to the forefront again, as the Court of Appeals recently sentenced a Kuwaiti citizen and a Syrian individual to 7 years in prison and fined them 800,000 Kuwaiti Dinars, following the Kuwaiti citizen’s forgery of Kuwaiti citizenship for the latter’s son - the Syrian person - thereby attributing him to the citizen to enjoy the benefits of citizenship and enlistment in the Kuwaiti army, which is in fact forged.

The threads of the case were woven since 1992 when the first accused (the citizen), exploiting his status, executed a systematic plan in agreement with another person - of Syrian nationality - where the citizen informed the Kuwait Embassy in Syria of a child being born to him, claiming he was his legitimate son to confer Kuwaiti citizenship upon him, who was in fact the second accused's son without any legal entitlement, thus through deceit and forgery in official documents, according to Kuwait's Al-Qabas newspaper.
