Khaberni - Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khateeb Zadeh stated, "The Iranian peaceful nuclear program is still active up to this moment."
In an interview with the American network "CNN", the Iranian official said "They have attacked and destroyed much of our infrastructure, machines, and buildings, but the program largely relies on our domestic knowledge which is widespread across our country, a vast country with a population of 90 million and an area of 1.6 million square meters. This is not a country you can bomb and then think you will destroy everything."
Khateeb Zadeh continued: "This is science, this is knowledge and experience which we already possess, and we will protect it."
He added, "We believe that any means of defense, any legitimate means of defense must be supported by Iran, because there is no country on Earth that is lax about its national security, and Iran is no exception."
The precise condition of the Iranian facilities is still unclear, after a 12-day war between Iran and Israel last June, which ended with American strikes on three nuclear facilities in Iran, namely Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan.
Initially, American President Donald Trump said that the Fordo nuclear site was destroyed, while an early American intelligence assessment indicated that the three nuclear facilities were severely damaged, but the Iranian nuclear program may have been set back by only up to two years.
