Khaberni - A video clip posted by Egyptian girl Ruqaya Mohammed on "TikTok" sparked widespread controversy over the past two days, as she appeared singing with her friend the song "You Laugh and Turn".
Hours after the video spread and was widely shared on social media, rumors circulated that the girl had been beaten by her father and forced to delete the clip, raising questions about what really happened to her, especially since other circulated pictures revealed that the girl was between life and death in intensive care.
However, Ruqaya, who is only 15 years old, dispelled the doubts amidst the rising controversy, appearing in a new video on her official page denying all the claims and rumors circulated about her.
Deleting the Clip
The young girl stated that she did not suffer any physical assault, and that she is in very good health, noting that the talk of her being hospitalized is completely unfounded.
She also clarified that the only dispute was about the first video, confirming that her father did nothing but ask her friend to delete the clip out of fear for her, after it spread widely unexpectedly.
Ruqaya concluded her talk by saying that the purpose of her appearance again is to clarify the truth and reassure the public, confirming that her relationship with her father is excellent, and that she has not encountered any dispute beyond the bounds of normal parental fear.
