The King Establishing a strategic partnership with the Indonesian Sovereign Fund enhances economic cooperation

Khaberni - His Majesty King Abdullah II and the Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto held talks on Friday at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta, discussing the strong relations between the two countries and developments in the Middle East.

His Majesty emphasized the depth of the Jordanian-Indonesian relations that have extended for 75 years and the keenness to expand cooperation in the fields of mining, industry, halal products, defense, cybersecurity, and combating extremism.

During the talks, which were attended by HRH Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, His Majesty’s chief advisor for religious and cultural affairs and his personal envoy, His Majesty pointed out the importance of establishing a strategic partnership with the Indonesian Sovereign Fund (Danantara), to open new horizons for economic cooperation and enhance the exchange of expertise to develop and manage government investments and their development.

Speaking about the situation in the Middle East, His Majesty expressed his appreciation for Indonesia's supportive stances towards efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive peace.

His Majesty stressed the importance of adhering to the agreement to end the war in Gaza, and to stop the escalation against Palestinians in the West Bank, emphasizing the necessity of stopping assaults on Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem and preserving the existing historical and legal status there.

On the sidelines of the royal visit, two memoranda of understanding were signed between the two governments, one in the fields of higher education, science, and technology, and the other in the field of health.

His Majesty King Abdullah II awarded the Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto the decorated Renaissance Medal, in appreciation of his efforts in enhancing the special relations between the two nations and their peoples.

The talks were attended by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, Chief of the Joint Staff Major General Yousef Al-Huneiti, the Director of His Majesty’s Office Alaa Batayneh, Minister of Investment Tariq Abu Ghazaleh, and the Jordanian Ambassador to Indonesia Sadqi Al-Amoush.
