The Israeli Supreme Court approves displacement of Ras Jaraba village in the Negev

Khaberni - This morning, Thursday, the Israel Public Broadcasting said that the Israeli Supreme Court ratified last night, Wednesday, a ruling causing the displacement of the inhabitants of the Bedouin village of Ras Jaraba in the Negev in the Palestinian territories occupied in 1948.
This came after the court rejected the residents' appeal against the decision of the Central Court in Beersheba, paving the way for the eviction of about 500 Palestinian Bedouin from their lands located east of the city of Dimona within three months.
The decision of the High Court actually indicates that the court granted legal legitimacy to a displacement process not based on a valid plan, which the villagers and human rights organizations considered "entrenchment of apartheid policies" in the Negev.
The lands of Ras Jaraba have historically belonged to the Hawashla tribe, and are inhabited by residents from the Hawashla, Abu Salb, and Nassar families, and the village is within the jurisdiction of Dimona in an area known as "Sha'iriyya" or "Hawashla Compound".
