Khaberni - In a new development in the case that has stretched for years between star Ahmed Ezz and actress Zeina, an Egyptian court ruled on Tuesday to accept the appeal submitted by Ezz regarding a previous ruling on maintenance for the twins, deciding to reduce the amount to 60,000 EGP monthly.
Nasr City Family Court issued its initial verdict based on documents presented by Zeina, which indicated an increase in Ezz's income from his participation in widely successful cinematic and dramatic works, among them the movie "Sons of Rizk," alongside "The Passage" and "Abu Omar the Egyptian".
The roots of the legal dispute between the two parties date back to 2014 when Zeina resorted to the courts to prove the paternity of her twin children, amidst Ezz's refusal to undergo DNA testing, before a final verdict later confirmed the paternity.
In 2017, she obtained a verdict of khul' (divorce), while subsequent disputes between them continued over maintenance, educational expenses, and other legal issues related to the family.
Notable artistic presence
The judicial development coincides with intense artistic activity by Ahmed Ezz, whose name has recently topped social media following the announcement of his new movie "7 Dogs," which he stars in alongside Italian actress Monica Bellucci, in a work that has attracted attention since the release of its first promotional trailer.
The movie "7 Dogs" is one of the most anticipated cinematic productions, starring Karim Abdel Aziz, and many of its main scenes were shot inside the Big Time studios in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in an experience considered to be among the largest in terms of production in the region.
New works
Conversely, actress Zeina continues to make a strong artistic presence, having attracted attention since the premiere of her series "In Someone’s Tale - Rose and Chocolate" on the Yango Play platform, a drama inspired by a true story that has sparked widespread controversy in society.
The series is written by Mohamed Raja and directed by Mando El Adl, and stars Mohamed Farag, along with Maha Nassar, Mariam El Khosht, Safaa El Toukhy, Omar Mehdi, and Mohamed Suleiman, featuring guest appearances by Aya Slim and newcomer Youssef Hashish. The series consists of 10 episodes, offering a blend of drama and suspense.
Zeina is also preparing to release her new movie "The Devil is Clever" in theaters soon, starring alongside Ahmed Eid, with Mahmoud Hemida, Mohamed Anwar, Abdel Aziz Mikhyoun, and Yasser El Tobgy.
