Khaberni - Albuquerque, New Mexico witnessed a shocking murder incident after Alexis Hernandez, age 25, shot two individuals inside a home in the southwest of the city, claiming he had received an encrypted message from a cockroach demanding him to kill one of them.
A statement from the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office reported that the police arrived at the house on Friday evening, only to find the bodies of two unidentified men with gunshot wounds, while three adults and two children who were also present in the house were unharmed.
When the police arrived, Hernandez opened the door, armed with a pistol holstered at his hip, confessed to the presence of the victims, claimed he was a Marine infantryman, and stated that one of the victims had been stalking him and placing surveillance cameras, in addition to hearing scary noises from the vents.
According to the search warrant, Hernandez alleged that he received signals from "the cockroach" telling him he needed to kill one of the men before he was killed himself. He confirmed that he shot the first victim in the head, and the second in the kitchen, then returned to fire again after retrieving additional ammunition from his car.
The police clarified that the two young children were present during the incident, but Hernandez assured that he did not assault or harm them, according to the "New York Post".
Hernandez was detained on Saturday morning on open charges of double murder, while investigations continue to determine the circumstances of the incident and the mental condition of the disturbed man.
