Khaberni - In a scene that stirred wide controversy in the United States, a group of photos documented host Stephanie Miller as she bent at the feet of Democratic congresswoman Jasmine Crockett and kissed her shoe during a political event in California, according to "New York Post".

Miller, host of "The Stephanie Miller Show", posted the pictures on her "X" account, commenting: "Yes, I did kiss Jasmine Crockett's shoe, and I love her dearly".

The pictures showed Miller, 64, bending down on the ground before the congresswoman from Texas, before rising and hugging her with a smile amid applause and laughter from the audience, and Miller later commented: "She was very nice about it", referring to the congresswoman's acceptance of Miller's gesture.

In a subsequent video clip, Miller appeared alongside Jasmine Crockett among a group of celebrants, jokingly asking on camera: "Jasmine, can you confirm that I just kissed your shoe?" Jasmine responded with a smile: "That's right", Miller then added: "The future senator for Texas".

The incident occurred during a celebration for the passage of "Proposal 50" in California, which allows the redistricting of electoral districts, potentially eliminating 5 Republican seats in Congress.

The scene caused widespread controversy in American circles, with many considering Miller's behavior "demeaning and embarrassing." One commenter wrote: "You've made yourself look bad", and another said sarcastically, "I'm embarrassed for you, because you lack the awareness to feel embarrassed yourself, are you representing the image of the people as a broadcaster and media figure?"

Representative Jasmine Crockett, age 44, is one of the prominent figures of the Democratic Party in Texas and is known for her confrontational positions against U.S. President Donald Trump and members of the Republican Party, having described him sharply on more than one occasion.

As for Stephanie Miller, she is a former actress who turned into a host of satirical political shows, describing her show as "the most popular liberal talk show in America," claiming to have over 3 million listeners weekly.
