Khaberni - The debts of the Greater Mafraq Municipality owed by tenants and for fees for roofed spaces amount to 7 million and 100 thousand dinars, according to Dr. Mohammad Khalaf Al-Fayez, the head of the municipal committee.
Al-Fayez noted that debts owed by tenants for industrial, commercial properties, and kiosks of the municipality amount to 2 million and 600 thousand dinars, while the value of fees for roofed spaces owed by citizens is 4 million and 500 thousand dinars. He highlighted that if the municipality manages to collect these dues, especially with the facilitations approved by the Cabinet in this regard, it would positively reflect on improving the financial situation of the municipality, which is very critical both in terms of its financial entitlements and accumulated debts.
He added to the Jordan News Agency today, Tuesday, that citizens and tenants should take the initiative to benefit from the Cabinet's decision regarding debts of municipalities from roofed spaces and rental fees for its properties before the end of this year. He indicated that if payments are not initiated before the end of the stipulated period, legal actions will be taken against the violators.
