Khaberni - Mazen Al-Qadi, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, held a meeting on Monday in his office, which included deputies from the Islamic Action Front Party attended by the First Deputy Speaker Khamis Atiyah and the Second Deputy Ibrahim Al-Sarayrah.
The attendees agreed to authorize the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mazen Al-Qadi, to reach consensus on the formation of the committees. The Islamic Action Front party block also authorized Deputy Saleh Al-Armouti to achieve a consensus on committee membership. The council is to meet tomorrow morning Wednesday at eleven o'clock to complete the selection of committee members.
The attendees praised the management of the House of Representatives Speaker, Mazen Al-Qadi, and his efforts to forge consensus among the council members in the committee formations.
Al-Qadi decided to call the council to meet on Wednesday morning to continue discussing the agenda of the third session of the second ordinary term, starting from item four, which includes the election of the council’s permanent committees.
The committees include the following: Legal Committee, Finance Committee, Economic and Investment Committee, Foreign Affairs Committee, Administrative Committee, Education and Culture Committee, Youth, Sports, and Culture Committee, National Guidance and Media Committee, Health and Food Committee, Agriculture and Water Committee, Environment and Climate Committee, Labor and Social Development and Population Committee, Energy and Mineral Resources Committee, Public Services and Transport Committee, Tourism and Antiquities Committee, Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Committee, Public Liberties and Human Rights Committee, Women and Family Affairs Committee, Rural and Badia Committee, and Palestine Committee.
Verbal clashes had erupted among some members of the House of Representatives, prompting the Speaker to adjourn the session for consultation.
The clashes occurred during the voting process to elect the Finance Committee, within the permanent committee elections, during Tuesday’s session. This was after the council had referred the General Budget Law Project for the fiscal year 2026 to its finance committee.
The Finance Committee will commence discussing the budget project with ministries, units, and governmental institutions, in preparation to draft its recommendations and raise them to the House of Representatives. Subsequently, the latter will begin discussing the project under the parliament dome.
