Khaberni - The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mazen Al-Qadi, decided to call the council to convene on Wednesday morning to complete the discussion of the agenda of the third session of the second regular term, starting from the fourth item, which includes the election of the council's standing committees.
The committees include: the Legal Committee, the Financial Committee, the Economic and Investment Committee, the Foreign Affairs Committee, the Administrative Committee, the Education Committee, the Youth, Sports, and Culture Committee, the National Guidance and Media Committee, the Health and Food Committee, the Agriculture and Water Committee, the Environment and Climate Committee, the Labor and Social Development Committee, the Energy and Mineral Resources Committee, the Public Services and Transportation Committee, the Tourism and Antiquities Committee, the Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Committee, the Public Freedoms and Human Rights Committee, the Women and Family Affairs Committee, the Rural and Badia Committee, and the Palestine Committee.
Verbal altercations had erupted among a number of members of the House of Representatives, prompting the Speaker to adjourn the session for consultation.
The altercations occurred during the voting process to elect the Financial Committee of the House of Representatives, as part of the election of the permanent committees, during Tuesday's session, after the council referred the draft law of the general budget for the fiscal year 2026 to its finance committee.
The Financial Committee will begin discussing the budget draft with ministries, units, and government institutions, in preparation to draft its recommendations and submit them to the House of Representatives, which will then commence discussing the project under the dome of Parliament.
