Khaberni - Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Yaqoub Nasereddin, the Department of English Language and Translation in the Faculty of Arts and Educational Sciences at Middle East University, in cooperation with the Association of English Language, Literature and Translation Professors at Arab Universities, organized the third international conference titled: “Insights into Applied English and Translation Studies in the AI Era”, with the presence of the university president Professor Dr. Salam Al-Mahadin, deans of faculties, faculty members, spanning over two consecutive days, discussing research papers related to the English language, with a total of 82 submissions.
In her speech, the university president Dr. Salam Al-Mahadin said: "What these applications do is embody the intersection of phonetics with natural language processing algorithms, which highlights the importance of theoretical and applied linguistic studies in formulating fair and unbiased linguistic models."
She noted that artificial intelligence technologies today are shaping new dimensions for text analysis, discourse generation, and uncovering the deep structure of language, placing us before fundamental questions about who thinks, who creates, and what remains human in the era of artificial intelligence participation?!
On his part, the president of the Association of English Language, Literature and Translation Professors in Arab Universities, Professor Dr. Jihad Hamdan, expressed his gratitude for Middle East University's efforts in providing the opportunity for the third time for Jordanian, Arab, and foreign academics and researchers to present their latest research and discuss it in dialogue sessions, adding that the university is a prime example of an institution committed to investing in the minds of Jordanian and Arab researchers and academics, and keen on advancing the higher education sector.
The convening of the conference reaffirms the trust in Middle East University and its effective partnership with the Association of English Language, Literature and Translation Professors in Arab Universities, and its continued effort to open new horizons that combine language, thought, and technology.
