Amman Arab University and HAQQ  Towards Strategic Cooperation in Legal Technologies and Artificial Intelligence

Khaberni - As part of the aspirations of Amman Arab University to enhance cooperation with leading companies in legal technologies, Professor Dr. Hussam Al-Hamd, Vice President of Amman Arab University for Planning and Quality Assurance, received on behalf of the University President, Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Widian, a delegation from the company “HAQQ,” specializing in AI-based legal technologies and solutions, led by founder and CEO Mr. Antoine Kanaan, in the context of discussing ways of joint cooperation and building a strategic partnership with the Faculty of Law in the fields of electronic litigation and AI in legal education, attended by: Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Dhneebat, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Professor Dr. Alaa Al-Fawa’ir, Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Law and Head of the Private Law Department, Dr. Sultan Al-Atiyyin, Head of the Law Department, Dr. Faisal Al-Abdallat, Faculty member of the Faculty of Law, Mr. Wadah Musmar, Director of the Media and Public Relations Department at the university, and from “HAQQ”: Mr. Sharif Adnan, Regional Manager, and Mr. Ibrahim Al-Kawamleh, Manager of HAQQ’s office in Jordan.

During the meeting, Dr. Hussam Al-Hamd reviewed Amman Arab University's vision to develop academic programs and align them with rapid technological advancements, emphasizing the university's commitment to integrating AI applications in the educational process, particularly in legal specializations, which contributes to enhancing student skills and preparing them for job market requirements, and building effective partnerships with specialized institutions that support the journey of modernization and innovation in university education, enhancing applied scientific research, and developing teaching methods that are consistent with global standards and keep pace with the digital transformation in the higher education sector.

Mr. Kanaan underscored the importance of building a strategic partnership with Amman Arab University, praising its pioneering approach to developing legal education and keeping up with digital transformations, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence, explaining that “HAQQ” seeks to transfer its practical and technical expertise to the academic environment through developing innovative solutions for electronic litigation, implementing specialized training and applied programs, which contribute to honing the skills of students and enhancing their readiness to actively participate in the digital legal job market.

The meeting discussed the prospects of academic and applied cooperation between both parties, where the possibility of developing specialized qualitative courses in the fields of electronic litigation and legal artificial intelligence was explored, which aligns with the requirements of the digital transformation in the judicial system and contributes to enhancing students' readiness to meet the demands of the modern legal job market. Both sides emphasized the importance of integrating legal AI tools in the curriculum of the Law Faculty, due to their pivotal role in improving the efficiency of legal research and developing students' applied skills, in addition to exploring partnership opportunities in sponsoring the upcoming Law Faculty conference, in support of its academic objectives and enhancing its scientific and applied outcomes.
