Khaberni - Ann Al-Rifai, the ex-wife of the Egyptian artist Karim Mahmoud Abdel Aziz, set social media ablaze after her public response to her husband's official announcement of their separation on "Instagram", confirming that she learned of the divorce from the post itself without prior notice.
Ann stated in a post on her personal account, "Praise be to God for everything.. I kept silent for a long time to protect my home and family, believing that 'homes have their secrets', and my divorce was documented through an Instagram story after 14 years of marriage, without a divorce paper or notice from a notary."
She added, "Thank you for the appreciation and respect... And they plan and God plans, and God is the best of planners."
Ann Al-Rifai's comment came hours after Karim Mahmoud Abdel Aziz officially announced their separation, explaining that their disagreements had been ongoing for many years, and their attempts to preserve the family had not succeeded.
The young artist denied the involvement of any third party in the reasons for their separation, referencing rumors about a relationship with the artist Dina El Sherbiny.
Karim stated in his statement on "Instagram": "Divorce is decreed by our Lord.. I have utmost respect and appreciation for the mother of my daughters.. We tried for many years to continue our life together but failed, and this does not at all mean that there is anything discreditable about the other.. Some relationships end by the will of God, and end with mutual respect and goodwill, and no person recently mentioned has any connection with our problems, near or far."
It is worth mentioning that Karim Mahmoud Abdel Aziz has been married to Ann Al-Rifai for more than 14 years, and they have three daughters.
Al-Rifai has made a significant presence in the fashion industry in recent years after launching her own fashion design brand.
