Khaberni - The artistic and cultural community was shocked by the departure of Lebanese artist Ahmed Kaabour, who was claimed by death today, Thursday, at the age of about 70 years, according to his family.
It is scheduled that the body of the deceased will be funeral on Friday in the capital, Beirut, where the funeral procession will start from Al-Maqasid Hospital in the new road area, and he will be prayed for after the noon prayer in Al-Khashoggi Mosque, before being buried in the Martyrs’ Cemetery.
Kaabour is considered one of the most prominent figures of committed song in Lebanon, as his name was associated with artistic works that carried humanitarian and national messages, touching on issues of freedom and justice, securing himself a significant place in the consciousness of the Arab audience.
His career was highlighted through a number of works that combined meaningful words and expressive melodies, most notably his famous song "I Call You," taken from the words of the late Palestinian poet Tawfiq Ziyad, which turned into an artistic icon associated with struggle and identity.
During his career, Kaabour formed a model of an artist committed to the issues of his nation, where he used his art to express the concerns of people and defend human values, leaving an artistic legacy that will remain present in Arab cultural memory.
