Khaberni - From Beirut on Monday, Deputy Secretary of the Treasury for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, John Hurley called on Lebanese people to "end Iran’s malignant influence" through Hezbollah, emphasizing that his country is "very serious" about cutting off the party's funding from its supporter Tehran.
In an interview with three media outlets, including Agence France-Presse at the US embassy, Hurley said after meeting with Lebanese officials, "We believe that the key for the Lebanese people to reclaim their country lies in ending the Iranian malign influence through Hezbollah," affirming that the current US administration is "very serious about cutting off Iran’s financing" which the Treasury has estimated at over one billion dollars transferred since the beginning of the year to the party.
