Khaberni - Ammar Kokash, the secretary of the owners' union for recruiting and employing domestic workers, denied the existence of what is described as "mafias" for organizing the escape of domestic workers in Jordan, but rather limited cases.
Kokash added on Monday that reporting the escape of a worker cancels the legal liability of the recruiter, according to the kingdom.
He clarified that the recruitment of labor from Burundi will cost approximately 2000 dinars and monthly salaries will range around 225 dollars.
The Cabinet decided on Sunday to approve a memorandum of understanding with the government of the Republic of Burundi regarding the regulation of employment of Burundian domestic workers, with the purpose of cooperation and enhancing coordination and consultation on labor-related topics between the two countries.
The memorandum of understanding prepares for the recruitment of labor from the Republic of Burundi under the same conditions as recruitment from other countries; with the aim of diversifying markets and increasing competition in a way that reflects on labor costs.
