Khaberni - The Public Corporation for Food and Drug, in cooperation with the Royal Administration for Environmental Protection, closed an unlicensed olive oil press in Irbid after seizing a quantity of adulterated olive oil estimated at about 80 tanks.

According to a press release, the corporation clarified that based on complaints from citizens about olive oil lacking the distinctive smell and taste, the source of the oil linked to these complaints was tracked, and preliminary examination revealed it was adulterated and mixed with other vegetable oils. It was also found to be packaged in metal containers that do not comply with the containers approved by the corporation.

The corporation indicated that its staff have retained the entire quantity in preparation for its destruction according to the regulations,
and has referred those involved to the public prosecutor for necessary legal actions.
