Ashish qualifies for the boxing finals at the Islamic Solidarity Games

Khaberni - National team boxing player, Ziad Ashish, qualified this Sunday evening for the 70 kg final at the Islamic Solidarity Games, held in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.

Ziad Ashish managed to win in the semi-final against the Azerbaijani player, Sarkhan Aliyev, qualifying for the final where he will meet the Kyrgyzstani player Nurdin Rustambek tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Husain Ashish settled for a bronze medal in the 80 kg category after losing in the semi-finals to the Azerbaijani player Saeed Jamshid Jafarov.

Husain Ashish had won in yesterday’s quarter-final against the Saudi player, Mohammad Al-Subhi, with the match being stopped by the referee in the second round.

It is worth mentioning that this is the second bronze medal that Husain Ashish has achieved at the Islamic Solidarity Games, having also been crowned similarly in the Baku 2017 edition.
