Khaberni - The Moroccan team swept New Caledonia with 16 goals in the U17 World Cup currently held in Doha.
Morocco won against New Caledonia with a score of 16-0 on Sunday evening in the third round of Group 2 of the U17 World Cup held at the Aspire Academy stadiums in the Qatari capital, Doha.
Moroccan goals were scored by Bilal Saqqarat and Walid Ben Salah "double", Abdul Ali Daoudi "double", Ilyas Hadawi and Ziad Baha "double", Zakaria Al-Khalfawi and Nahl Hadani "double", Abdullah Wazzan "double", Ismail Al-Oud "double", and Stevie Andrew by an own goal.
The 16 goals came in the minutes 3, 11, 18, 41, 42, 44, 45+2, 48, 50, 56, 60, 73, 76, 80, 90, and 90+2 of the match.
Thus, the "Atlas Lions" achieved this overwhelming victory, marking the biggest win in the history of the U17 World Cup since the tournament’s inception in 1985.
The Moroccan team broke the record previously held by the Spanish team in the 1997 edition held in Egypt, where they won against New Zealand with a score of 13-0.
The New Caledonia team suffered from a numerical disadvantage after the expulsion of the duo Taivan Lawi and Jean Samuel in the minutes 22 and 31.
By doing so, the Atlas Lions achieved their first victory, raising their points tally to 3, and strengthening their chances to qualify among the best 8 teams ranked third in the group stages of the first round.
As for the New Caledonia team, they exited the tournament with 3 losses and 20 goals against, finishing at the bottom of the table.
