Khaberni - The Saudi capital Riyadh hosted on Saturday evening an extensive artistic gathering that brought together a selection of the most prominent stars and creators of Syrian drama, by invitation from the advisor Turki Al Sheikh, head of the Saudi Entertainment Authority, in a step described as the beginning of a new phase of joint Arab cooperation and production between the Kingdom, Syria, and Lebanon.
More than 100 artists and producers in a historic meeting
The meeting was attended by over 100 artists and producers from the top names in the Syrian and Lebanese drama scene, including: Yasser Al Azma, Tim Hassan, Mona Wasef, Qusai Khouli, Basel Khayat, Abbas Al Nouri, Sulafa Memar, Caris Bashar, Duraid Lahham, Suzanne Najm Al Din, Ghassan Masud, Saloum Haddad, and Amal Arfa, along with a group of prominent producers such as Jamal Sanan and Ahmed Al Sheikh.
The meeting received wide interest within the Arab artistic community, where many considered it a turning point in the path of Arab drama towards more integration and diverse production.
New drama projects between 2025 and 2026
According to circulated information, the meeting included a presentation of several major drama projects planned for execution during the years 2025 and 2026, aimed at reviving the spirit of classical Arab drama with a contemporary spirit that combines image quality and story depth.
Discussions also covered preparations for an extended Arab participation in the upcoming Joy Awards, in addition to launching new theatrical and artistic shows during the Riyadh Season.
