Israeli media attacks Jordanian workers in Eilat calling them ticking bombs

Khaberni - The newspaper "Maariv" reported a warning in the city of Eilat in southern Israel about what it described as "thousands of ticking bombs," referring to the Jordanian workers entering the area.

According to "Maariv," every morning, between 06:00 and 09:00, a large crowd of Jordanians enters Eilat. To be precise, more than 2,500, following the Immigration Authority's earlier approval this year to increase the number of permits.

According to the newspaper report, the vast majority of them enter to work in hotels, while the residents of Eilat refuse to get used to this new-old situation, repeatedly warning: "Eventually, this will explode in our faces." They claim it’s a dangerous habit that might someday lead to "the next massacre."

"Maariv" quoted Tal Cohen, a young woman renting in Eilat's tourist area, claiming: "Listen, this is scary. They are testing us, looking at us as if they saw a piece of meat."

Maxim, a young man working at one of the hotels in Eilat, told the newspaper, claiming: "I can testify that their intentions are not good. They are here because they want to earn a living – that’s true, but not because they love us. And the day they are able – they will harm us."

Shahar Levi, a young woman from Eilat, told "Maariv": "When they allowed in the Gaza Envelope area people who don't like us to work, they learned the area and killed us. Who knows if this is our story here too?" she claimed.
