Britain Lifts Sanctions on alShara and the Syrian Interior Minister

Khaberni - Britain lifted sanctions on the Syrian President Ahmad al-Shara, today Friday, after the United Nations Security Council took a similar decision before al-Shara's meeting with US President Donald Trump next Monday.

Britain also announced in the same statement the lifting of sanctions on the Syrian Interior Minister Anas Khatib.

Both were previously subject to financial sanctions targeting the Islamic State and Al-Qaeda organizations.

The permanent Syrian representative to the United Nations, Ibrahim Albi, expressed yesterday, Thursday, his country's welcoming of the UN Security Council's decision to lift President Ahmad al-Shara's name from the international sanctions list.
