Khaberni - The draft law for the 2026 fiscal year public budget reveals the government's allocation of two million dinars under the item "Completion of the New City Road".
In the current year's budget, the government allocated two million dinars for detailed studies of the new city.
The Minister of Local Administration, Walid Al-Masri, previously stated on the "Voice of the Kingdom" program, about the new city project "Umrah", explaining that it is not a new city as much as it is a project to provide affordable housing in partnership between the public and private sectors.
Al-Masri added that the idea of the new city project came as a result of having land owned by the state treasury, which can be used to provide housing in response to the population growth in congested cities (Amman, Zarqa, and Russeifa).
The Minister of Government Communication, the official spokesperson for the government, Mohammed Al-Momani, recently said that when the new city file is completed, the details will be announced, adding "When things are complete and the idea is final, we announce it."
