Khaberni - The Ministry of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs, and Holy Places said that it followed with great concern the occupation authorities' move to close the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, using the ongoing events in the region as a pretext.
In a statement on Thursday, the ministry considered the unprecedented closure of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, especially during the last ten days of Ramadan, a crime against the Al-Aqsa Mosque and Muslims all over the world.
The ministry confirmed that the entire area of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, which totals 144 dunams, is under the Hashemite custodianship of His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein.
The Ministry of Awqaf noted that it is the only authority entrusted with managing the Al-Aqsa Mosque with all its facilities and dependencies, and all Islamic endowments in the holy city of Jerusalem.
The ministry emphasized the need to act to stop these violations and to open the doors of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque to worshippers, respect its sanctity, and uphold the Muslims' right to pray there and perform religious rituals without restrictions or aggression.
