Khaberni - A Finnish car import company has introduced a gasoline-scented air freshener for buyers of the new Kia EV4 electric car in Finland.
Switching to an electric car requires some adaptation from users who are accustomed to the specifications of traditional fuel cars, and who may feel nostalgic for what the Finnish car import company "Astar Auto Finland" described as a light scent of oil and gasoline "that reminds us of the car workshop".
This solution is unique in Finland, and the marketing team of the Finnish company stated in a press release at the end of last October that this option is available for customers who may have already switched to an electric car if the scent experience is similar to their traditional car.
Finnish perfumer Max Bertola said he was inspired by the base oil scent of South Korean Kia cars, noting that he has developed fragrances for other luxury brands.
Klaus Bohjala from Astar Auto Finland said, "Of course, it's a somewhat bold campaign," admitting that the South Korean car manufacturer Kia aims to add a touch of fun for drivers of the new electric cars. The South Korean company sells the Kia EV4 in Europe, in both hatchback and sedan versions.
Bertola added that the light gasoline scent provides a long-lasting, yet gentle touch to the fragrance that leans towards the scent of jasmine.
The air freshener that revives the scents of internal combustion engines may seem odd, but some electric cars add engine and gearbox sound simulators to their equipment to approximate the driving experience to that of traditional cars.
