Khaberni - Former Prime Minister Abdul Raouf Al-Rawabdeh, in the presence and participation of public, media, and sports figures, sponsored a memorial service for the deceased Mohammad Hamdan, "Dean of Qadisiyah Club".
The ceremony, held in the Amman Chamber of Commerce, was dignified, befitting the deceased's life who lived lovingly and loyally to his country, leadership, and his rich career history in both sports and his roles as president and board member of sports federations and the Olympic Committee.
Speaking at the ceremony, along with Al-Rawabdeh, were Hani Al-Safarini, the club president; Ghazi Al-Tayeb, head of the Pioneers of Youth and Sports Movement; former Youth Minister Bishir Al-Rawabdeh; journalist Samir Junkat; the deceased's daughter, Samira Mohammad Hamdan (speaking on behalf of the family); and poet Saeed Yaqoub (reciting a mourning poem).
The speakers praised the deceased and discussed his virtues and long service characterized by generosity, loyalty, altruism, integrity, and chivalry, in addition to his patriotism and Arab identity.
They also referred to his life dedicated to ethics, love, seriousness in work, and the care of Jordanian youth in clubs and federations, keeping up with generations of officials, sportspeople, and communities, as well as his administrative successes in the positions he held.
Al-Rawabdeh described him as "the Jordanian ploughman", the man who carved the rock and stood firm, like the Jordanians who have worked in building the nation, ensuring Jordan remains a mark of pride for this nation and on the Hashemites' forefront.
The ceremony, hosted by Dr. Basem Al-Faqir and Mohammed Khamees, was dominated by
a significant presence of players from clubs and national teams from past generations who achieved accomplishments in Jordanian sports and football, locally, Arab-wide, and internationally.
At the end of the ceremony, the president of Qadisiyah Club, Al-Safarini, presented the club's shield to the patron of the event Al-Rawabdeh, to the deceased's family, and to the president of the Amman Chamber of Commerce, Khalil Al-Haj Tawfiq.
