Sharp dispute between the Chief of Staff of the Occupation Army and the head of the Shabak in Netanyahus office

Khaberni - Netanyahu ended the discussion by reaffirming the need for an immediate and clear coordination mechanism between the Occupation Army and "Shabak" to avoid any future conflicts in authority.

Hebrew media sources revealed details of a sharp and unprecedented disagreement that erupted between the head of internal security for the occupation (Shabak) David Zini, and the Chief of Staff of the Occupation Army, Eyal Zamir.

According to reports, this disagreement occurred during a high-level security meeting held in the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office, who found himself compelled to personally intervene to contain the deteriorating situation and intense tension between the heads of the two security institutions.

Hebrew media quoted informed security sources as saying that this disagreement, despite its apparent severity, does not necessarily reflect a complete breakdown between the two institutions, but it clearly reveals an increasing and ongoing tension related to the distribution of sensitive security and intelligence authorities.

The sources pointed out that the roots of the current crisis go back to the decision to appoint Zini as head of "Shabak" without consulting the Chief of Staff, which triggered significant sensitivity within the corridors of the military establishment of the occupation.

Channel 12 of the occupation reported that the disagreement reached its peak during a closed session held in the last few days.

The tension began when the Chief of Staff, Eyal Zamir, accused "Shabak" head David Zini of overstepping his granted authorities and directly intervening in files that exclusively fall under the responsibility of the Occupation Army.

During the heated discussion, Zamir interrupted his counterpart Zini with a sharp tone and raised voice, saying: "What is the role of Shabak there? What exactly are your authorities? The army is the one issuing the warnings, not you."

This altercation prompted the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, to immediately intervene to calm the session, stating: "We need to come up with a joint working mechanism."

The tension was further heightened by reports that some meetings between Netanyahu and the head of "Shabak" were held in complete secrecy without the knowledge of the Chief of Staff, before he was later informed through the military secretary of the Israeli Prime Minister.

Netanyahu ended the discussion by reaffirming the need for an immediate and clear coordination mechanism between the Occupation Army and "Shabak" to avoid any future conflicts in authority.

Despite the absence of any official comment from the two security institutions or from the office of the Israeli Prime Minister regarding this incident, observers warned that this public disagreement reflects deep accumulations in the relationship between the two institutions.

Observers, as reported by the Hebrew media, expressed their fear that this tension might negatively impact the security coordination in the Gaza Strip during the upcoming phase, especially in the thorny files related to the management of the transitional situation in the sector.
