Khaberni - The Cairo Economic Misdemeanor Appeals Court ruled today, Wednesday, to uphold the ruling against the blogger Hadir Abdel Razek with a one-year prison sentence after her conviction for presenting and broadcasting content that violates public decency through social media platforms.
The prosecution had charged the accused with offending society and publishing inappropriate content that conflicts with family values, while the first-instance verdict sentenced her to one year in prison. She had appealed the verdict, but in today's session, the court rejected the appeal and upheld the issued punishment, making it mandatory to execute.
This case is part of judicial efforts to address inappropriate content on social media platforms and to enhance compliance with legal and ethical standards for published content.
