Khaberni - Zohran Mamdani, the elected mayor of New York who will officially take the oath of office as mayor at the beginning of next January, said, "We have turned the page on policies that have long disregarded the rights of the majority in New York and serviced only a handful of the wealthy."
He added, "We will fight for the people of New York because I am one of them," pointing out that "more than 100,000 volunteers participated in my campaign, and they will participate in making New York a better city."
He emphasized that he will work "with one goal, which is to improve the conditions of our city, New York, from what they were," and said: "We won and triumphed despite all the smear campaigns."
Mamdani also announced that he will freeze rent increases in New York, and he announced that he will provide public transport and childcare for free to needy families.
He also promised to reduce crime levels, affirming, "We will address the security and housing problems in the city."
He confirmed, "We will fight anti-Semitism and Islamophobia in the city."
The elected mayor of New York pledged to stand by the unions, saying, "We will confront the Trump-like real estate contractors who exploited our city."
He also said, "New York will remain a city of immigrants, and will be run by immigrants."
He also promised to eliminate the culture of tax evasion among those like Trump, and concluded his statements by saying: "I am Muslim, Democrat, Socialist."
