Khaberni - Ten people were injured with varying degrees of severity, four of whom are in critical condition, due to a running over accident that happened on Wednesday in the “Île d'Oléron” area in France, situated off the city of La Rochelle on the Atlantic coast.
The public prosecutor of the Île d'Oléron, Arnaud Larray, stated that a 35-year-old man deliberately drove his car into a group of pedestrians and cyclists, causing the injuries. He clarified that the driver is a resident of the island.
The French Ministry of Interior confirmed that the perpetrator of the running over incident has been arrested, while authorities continue their investigations to determine his motives and the circumstances of the incident.
