Khaberni - The General Administration for Counter-Terrorism and Money Laundering in Kuwait succeeded in apprehending an organized gang involved in managing and operating a website dedicated to gambling games.
The General Administration for Security Media Relations stated that thorough security investigations revealed that the gang members were transferring the money generated from gambling activities and legitimizing it by depositing it into bank accounts belonging to certain clinics and commercial companies, making it appear as regular income, then recycling and transferring it abroad to conceal its illegitimate source.
The Ministry of Interior affirmed that dealing with or participating in activities of websites that violate the law constitutes a crime punishable by law. It emphasizes that it will not be lenient in pursuing and detaining anyone daring to tamper with the financial system or exploit the cyberspace for activities that violate the law and will take the strictest legal measures against them.
