Saudi Arabia A major financial fine for those providing shelter to visa holders in Mecca

Khaberni - The Saudi Ministry of Interior announced the imposition of a financial fine of 100,000 Riyals for anyone sheltering visa holders in Mecca.

The Saudi Interior confirmed the enforcement of the fine on anyone providing accommodation to visa holders of all types in any designated residential area (hotels, apartments, private housing, shelters, pilgrim housing sites, etc.), or concealing them, or providing any assistance to them that results in their stay in the holy city of Mecca and the sacred sites from the first day of Dhu Al-Qa'dah until the end of the 14th day of Dhu Al-Hijjah.

It pointed out that the fines multiply with the number of offenders sheltered, concealed, or assisted.

The Ministry called in a statement today, Friday, for everyone to comply with the regulations organized for this year’s Hajj season and to cooperate with the relevant authorities to ensure the security and safety of the guests of Allah, confirming that violation of these instructions exposes the perpetrators to systematic penalties.

It called for taking the initiative to report violations via the number (911) in the regions of Mecca, Medina, Riyadh, and East, and the number (999) in the rest of the Kingdom’s regions.
