Khaberni - The government shutdown in the United States has reached day 36, becoming the longest in the country's history, surpassing the duration of the 2019 shutdown during Donald Trump's first presidential term.
Republicans and Democrats in Congress have been unable to reach an agreement that would end this paralysis since the previous federal state budget ended on October 1, causing the suspension of social benefits and putting hundreds of thousands of government employees on technical unemployment and even disrupting air traffic.
Trump affirmed on his "Truth Social" platform that the electoral setbacks his party faced in many local elections were due to the government shutdown, which has become the longest in history.
On his platform, justifying the Republican Party's loss in local elections, he wrote, "Trump was not on the ballot, and the government shutdown were the reasons behind Republicans losing the elections tonight, according to polling experts."
