Iraqi groom dies after a 60day coma following his fall at his wedding

Khaberni - A wedding night turned into a tragedy in Dohuk Governorate, Iraq, after the young groom fell unconscious amidst the joyful atmosphere, entering a coma that lasted about two months before he passed away due to a sudden blockage in his heart arteries.

The details of the incident date back to the fourteenth of September (September) last year, when the groom "Mehran", aged 25, fell during his wedding in front of his family and friends who were celebrating his marriage in the city of Aqra, turning the joy into a horrific shock.

After being transported to Azadi Hospital in Dohuk, he remained in a coma for about two consecutive months, before doctors pronounced him dead on Tuesday morning.

The brother of the deceased, Shahram, said in statements to local media: "Unfortunately, we lost our brother Mehran after weeks of struggle in the hospital, his condition was due to a sudden blockage in the heart arteries, without any prior signs or symptoms.. doctors confirmed that this condition is rare, affecting about one individual out of every three thousand."

He added sadly, "We were all experiencing the happiest moments, but fate turned the joy into a tragedy... We thank God for what he has afflicted us with, and we ask Him not to give anyone such pain."
