Khaberni - Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, sees that the current obstacle facing AI technologies is not the shortage of chips and computing power but the lack of available energy to run them, according to a report published by the tech site "Tom's Hardware".
Nadella's statements came during an interview conducted with him by Brad Gerstner, host of the podcast "Bg2", with Sam Altman, CEO of "OpenAI", also part of the interview.
Nadella added, "We currently own chips that we cannot operate because we do not have enough energy to run them," in response to the interviewer's question about computing power and its surplus.
The energy crisis has turned into the talk of the hour concerning artificial intelligence and the obstacles facing its companies recently, following Nvidia's resolution of the artificial intelligence chip availability crisis in recent years.
This has prompted many companies to invest in alternative energy sources, whether nuclear power or other renewable energies that can be used more easily than conventional electricity.
Moreover, the increasing demand for energy by AI data centers and their significant expansion were sufficient reasons to raise the energy cost on the typical American citizen.
On the other hand, some companies are trying to develop language and artificial intelligence models that consume less energy and computing power to escape the existing energy crisis in traditional AI models.
In his conversation with Altman, Gerstner touched on consumer-specific equipment and its development in the world of artificial intelligence.
Altman clarified that the future will see user devices capable of operating advanced AI models without the need for data centers.
