Taylor Swift Fans Flock to German Museum to See Ophelia Painting

Khaberni - About two hundred fans of American singer Taylor Swift participated in the first special exhibition of the modern art painting "Ophelia" in the Hesse State Museum in Wiesbaden (the state capital) this Sunday, to the sound of pop music, wearing special costumes and friendship bracelets.

During the guided tour of the museum, the audience of fans was introduced to the painting, drawn in the "Art Nouveau" style.

For weeks, hundreds of Swift's fans, especially on weekends, have been flocking to the museum to take a look at this artwork.

In the opening scene of the music video for Swift's song "Destiny of Ophelia," the pop star embodies Ophelia and transforms into a living art piece.

According to the museum, it is not officially known which artwork inspired the video, but a direct comparison shows a strong resemblance to the painting by artist Friedrich Heiser (1921-1857), one of the leading artists of the Art Nouveau style, preserved in the museum's collection since 2019.

Many fans wore costumes emulating the look of Taylor Swift or the character Ophelia specifically for the event, and the museum promised those who attended in costume free entry.

One of the museum staff presented an interactive show that included explanations and analysis of Heiser's painting for an audience predominantly made up of young people of both genders.

The tour connected the character of Ophelia in William Shakespeare's play and the modern art painting and Swift's music video through a spectrum of contemporary cultural stories.

The museum extended an open invitation to Taylor Swift, and the museum staff and fans, known as "Swifties," collectively called out: "Taylor, come to Wiesbaden."

The 200 tickets allocated for the event sold out within just a few hours.

It is noted that this museum is one of five museums affiliated with the State of Hesse.
