Khaberni - Despite the previous decision to halt operations which was taken to combat the spread of bedbugs in the Um Suleih Secondary School for Girls in Zarqa Governorate, east of the Jordanian capital Amman, the bedbugs reappeared today, Sunday, forcing students to leave the school and return to their homes, amid intervention from security forces and relevant entities in the Ministry of Education, according to sources for Khaberni.
The Director of Education in Second Zarqa, Wael Abu Al-Foul Khaberni, had earlier decided to halt school operations from October 28 to October 30, to conduct comprehensive spraying and sterilization of the building, in coordination with the concerned entities, after the spread of bedbugs was observed in classrooms.
At that time, it was also decided to compensate students with school days on Saturdays in the following weeks (November 1, 8, and 15), but the reappearance of the insect today raised questions about the effectiveness of the followed control measures, and heightened concerns among parents and teaching staff about the safety of the school environment.
Teams from the Ministry of Education were present in the school this morning, along with security forces, to monitor the situation, amid calls from parents for a swift and radical solution that ensures a healthy and safe educational environment for students.
