Lebanese Prime Minister Weapon Restriction Decision Made and is Irreversible

Khaberni - Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam emphasized that restricting weapons to the state's hands is no longer just a slogan but a decision that has been made and is irreversible.

In a statement after meeting the Maronite Patriarch Mar Bechara Boutros al-Rahi, Salam mentioned that the government is "making all efforts through the Ceasefire Monitoring Committee (the Mechanism), and our Arab and international relations to mobilize all our capabilities to stop Israeli violations and return to the ceasefire agreement".

Regarding concerns about the security situation in the matter of weapon restriction, Salam said: "A decision has been made, and the army has presented us with a plan for implementation. In less than a week, we will have a new report from the army commander, and there is no going back on weapon restriction."

He added: "There has been an escalation by Israel in the past weeks, and we are working hard through the Mechanism Committee and mobilizing our Arab and international relations to mobilize all our capabilities to stop the violations and return to the ceasefire agreement."
