Khaberni - MacRumors website reported that Apple has filed a lawsuit against Chinese company Oppo, accusing it of spying on its technologies.
According to the site, the lawsuit came following a presentation by former Apple engineer Chen Shi to Oppo employees after he moved to them, having joined Oppo after leaving Apple. During the presentation titled "Apple Sensors", it was alleged that the engineer disclosed proprietary data of the American company.
Before leaving Apple, Chen Shi worked in the department specializing in the development of smartwatches, noting that his former employer had filed a personal lawsuit against him in August last year, accusing him of downloading 63 files from a protected folder on the work computer, intending to later transfer them to Apple's Chinese rival.
In the new lawsuit, Apple alleged that Oppo encouraged its new employee to disclose the secrets.
In response to these allegations, Oppo stated that Chen Shi was describing to his new colleagues "general engineering principles" that did not include any information he obtained from Apple, and Shi expressed his readiness to cooperate with the court.
It is worth noting that a U.S. federal court in Delaware in July last year ordered Apple to pay $110 million to Spanish company TOT due to infringement of a patent owned by the latter, and in September last year, the "Tagansky" district court in Moscow also ordered Apple to pay a fine of 3.5 million rubles for failing to remove data that violates Russian laws.
