Khaberni - Latifa Al-Droubi, wife of the Syrian president Ahmad Al-Shar'a, stirred significant interaction on social media platforms as people circulated a video of her walking alongside her husband and the Saudi Crown Prince, Prince Mohammad bin Salman.
The circulated video clip was taken on the sidelines of the Future Investment Initiative Conference 2025, hosted by Saudi Arabia, where the interim Syrian president held a panel session attended by the Saudi Crown Prince, on Wednesday. Activists also shared other shots of Droubi’s attendance next to her husband inside the conference hall.
In unique moments, Al-Shar'a spoke about his birthday memory during the session, saying: "I had forgotten my birthday but my dear wife reminded me about it," in response to a question about his birthday coinciding on October 29 while being in Riyadh, his birthplace.
He continued: "I was born in Saudi Arabia, in beloved Riyadh, where I am today.. on this very day in 1982. Today I am also the guest of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, so perhaps these fates are no coincidence.. The conference was supposed to be held two days earlier but was postponed to be today, perhaps as a good omen."
