Khaberni - The Criminal Court, chaired by counselor Nasser Al-Badr, yesterday sentenced two Gulf nationals to 7 years in prison and fined them one million dinars for forging Kuwaiti nationality by claiming affiliation to a deceased citizen.
The court also ordered one defendant to pay 3,710 dinars and the other 362,000 dinars in fines, doubling the amount misappropriated by taking advantage of the benefits of Kuwaiti nationality.
The public prosecution had charged the defendants, as employees, with unlawfully appropriating financial amounts, specifying the value and amount according to documents and the Kuwait Credit Bank, the Public Authority for Manpower, and the Public Institution for Housing Welfare, as well as enjoying financial benefits without just cause, which are the benefits enjoyed by every Kuwaiti citizen.
