Khaberni - The total number of complaints submitted on the "Protection" platform on the Ministry of Labor's website in the first nine months of the current year amounted to 8722 complaints, 2982 of which were resolved, and 98 are in progress, while 924 violations were issued to establishments based on the complaints, according to the monthly report of the Inspection Directorate at the Ministry.
The Ministry clarified that labor complaints that fall outside its jurisdiction are recorded on "Protection", and labor inspectors contribute to resolving them between the worker and the employer amicably (through reconciliation). If the disputes remain unresolved, the worker is directed to the judiciary to claim his rights. Examples include complaints regarding termination of services or claims for financial entitlements while not being currently employed.
The complaint about the non-payment of wages ranked first among the number of labor complaints on "Protection" during the past nine months, reaching 3202, which constitutes 37% of the total complaints. Complaints regarding termination of service and unspecified duration contract or verbal contract or absence of a contract amounted to 509, and complaints about suspending the worker from work were 454, according to Al-Ghad newspaper.
The report showed that complaints concerning wage reduction amounted to 255, while complaints of forcing the worker to take unpaid leave reached 56. Complaints about objections to deductions from annual leave were 95, and there were no complaints regarding the non-provision of an end-of-service bonus/fund.
Complaints regarding the non-issuance of a work experience certificate to the worker were 538, while those concerning the absence of occupational safety and health standards in the institution were 86. The number of complaints against employment agencies was 12, complaints related to intellectual property were 3, those related to the non-provision of a one-month notice were 42, objections to a legal procedure by the institution were 505, and the notifications issued to the establishments were 6325.
