Khaberni - Energy expert Hashem Aqel disclosed today, Monday, the beginning of the rollout of plastic gas cylinders in local markets next month, following the arrival of the first batch of these modern cylinders to Jordan, described as a historical transformation in the Jordanian domestic energy sector.
Aqel explained that about 100,000 cylinders have arrived in Jordan and have been placed in warehouses awaiting the completion of additional shipments to reach a total of 240,000 cylinders.
He mentioned that as soon as the number is complete, a technical inspection phase will begin by the Standards and Metrology Organization, the Civil Defense Directorate, and the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission, to ensure they meet the highest standards of safety and quality before being introduced into the market.
The new cylinders represent an advanced generation of gas storage methods, characterized by being lighter in weight and safer, explosion and rust-resistant, in addition to their modern design that allows for easy monitoring of the gas quantity.
