Khaberni - In a historic step that reflects the will of creativity in the face of the toughest circumstances, the “edupro” platform has been launched, the first Palestinian and Middle Eastern educational platform that relies entirely on a local artificial intelligence model, during the events of the tenth national forum “Innovation from the Nation to the World”.
This leading platform, developed by aba agency as an initiative from the company's co-founder, Samer Al-Bitawi, its board of directors, and its team of Palestinian programmers and technicians, offers a comprehensive technological solution that serves the education system amidst the significant challenges facing the education sector in Palestine, especially with the ongoing war, destruction, economic conditions, and difficulties in accessing schools.
A ready platform to serve six main beneficiaries
Samer Al-Bitawi provided a detailed explanation of the platform, stating that it is now fully ready to serve six main beneficiaries within an integrated digital education system. He elaborated that the platform is designed to meet the needs of each group with specialized tools and permissions.
Students, from grade four to high school, receive a comprehensive interactive educational experience that includes all subjects, with a smart virtual teacher capable of solving complex mathematical and physical equations and responding to their immediate inquiries, in addition to smart assessment exams that automatically generate new questions each time, with instant performance evaluation.
Parents can continuously monitor and evaluate their child’s performance, and communicate with artificial intelligence for in-depth analyses about the student's behavior and the challenges faced, along with practical recommendations for solving educational and behavioral issues. Meanwhile, teachers gain advanced tools for preparing their lessons, organizing, and virtual communication with students, benefiting from smart analytics to improve their teaching performance.
On an administrative level, the platform provides specialized control panels for schools, directorates, and the ministry, where each authority can monitor educational performance within their geographical and administrative scope, and obtain comprehensive analyses provided by artificial intelligence about problems, challenges, and opportunities, enabling decision-makers to take strategic decisions based on accurate and immediate data.
Al-Bitawi highlighted that the platform also includes an innovative feature called “the community”, which allows students from the same grade, regardless of their geographical locations, to communicate and exchange knowledge and experiences, while the artificial intelligence analyzes their interactions and the content exchanged among them, and outputs smart educational recommendations that enhance collaborative and active learning.
National adoption and future vision
The launch event was marked by a pivotal moment as the Supreme Council for Creativity and Excellence, the organizer of the forum, announced its readiness to adopt the platform and the concept locally and internationally, following other pioneering projects it embraces.
The platform was launched in the presence of a select group of decision-makers in the creativity and education sectors, with the participation of His Excellency Engineer Adnan Samara, President of the Supreme Council for Creativity and Excellence and the advisor to His Excellency the President on Affairs of Creativity, who emphasized the strategic value of the project by stating:
“Amid the obstacles our society is suffering from, Palestinian minds prove once again their ability to produce and innovate.”
Engineer Samara added that the platform is now active and ready to serve the students, which represents a testimony to resilience and the ability to keep up with global development despite everything. The platform has received great respect and appreciation from the elite present in the education and artificial intelligence sectors, who praised the depth of the idea and the quality of execution.
The platform in active service
Unlike many emerging projects, “edupro” was launched fully activated and ready for immediate use. Students from grade four to high school (general secondary) can register directly and start benefiting from its comprehensive services, which include:
• A multi-disciplinary virtual teacher: capable of solving complex problems and responding to student inquiries.
• Smart assessment exams: automatically generate renewed questions and provide instant performance evaluation.
• Specialized control panels: for the student, parent, teacher, school, directorate, and ministry, creating an interconnected and transparent educational system.
The platform is also ready for immediate application at school and directorate levels, especially with the upcoming exam period, offering real and tangible support for the educational process.
Towards continuous development and strategic partnerships
The ambitions of those responsible for the platform do not stop at this. In the coming days, the platform will be presented to various educational institutions in partnership with the Council of Creativity to open discussions, explore development opportunities, and enhance its role in modernizing education to keep up with the global AI revolution.
This step aims to build partnerships that ensure the platform’s growth and its integration with the formal education system.
Technical independence and data sovereignty
The strength of “edupro” lies in its reliance on a local artificial intelligence model and private servers, ensuring complete sovereignty over student data and freeing it from dependence on ready-made global models. This technological independence, stemming from the need in Palestine, gives the platform flexibility and applicability in any educational system around the world.
Al-Bitawi emphasized that the primary goal of the platform goes beyond the technical aspect, as it seeks to preserve the most important capital of the Palestinian people, which is the human element, by enabling students with quality education, analyzing their academic and educational behavior, and preserving the educational and cultural heritage through complete control over content and information analyzed and retained locally.
A message of hope and resilience
The launch of “edupro” represents more than just a technical event; it is a strong message that the Palestinian mind is capable of turning adversity into opportunity, offering innovative solutions that serve humanity, and affirming that creativity cannot be limited by circumstances no matter how harsh.
Notably, the founder of the platform, Samer Al-Bitawi, announced that the platform will be free for students and teachers for the current period and will extend to the Gaza Strip for an additional academic year.
