Khaberni - Apple has started shipping advanced AI application servers from its factory in Houston, Texas, USA.
These servers are an essential part of Apple's commitment to spend $600 billion in the United States on advanced manufacturing, suppliers, and other initiatives, and this achievement may please President Donald Trump, who has called on Apple and other tech companies to increase manufacturing within the United States.
Apple's plan to assemble servers in the United States was first revealed in February, according to a report by CNBC, which was accessed by "Al Arabiya Business".
Sabih Khan, Apple's Chief Operating Officer, said on Thursday that the servers will power the company's "Apple Intelligence" and "Private Cloud Compute" services. Apple uses its own silicon chips in the servers running the "Apple Intelligence" AI features.
Apple said that the Houston factory is on track to create thousands of jobs. It is noted that Apple's servers were previously manufactured outside the United States.
In August, Apple CEO Tim Cook met with Trump to announce additional company spending in the United States, particularly on semiconductor companies, as part of a program called the "American Manufacturing Program".
While Trump has praised Cook and Apple for their commitment to spending in the United States, he has sometimes urged Apple to manufacture iPhone phones in the United States, a process that experts say could take years and would be costly.
Previously, the Trump administration demanded the imposition of customs duties that could harm Apple and then cancelled them, as the company imports its computers and phones to the United States from China, India, and Vietnam.
In September, Cook, in an interview with CNBC, said that Apple contributes to the manufacturing sector in the United States through its dealings with American semiconductor suppliers, and that its spending and expertise enable the complete manufacturing and processing of chips in the United States.
